Trip Essentials

What to expect

A short safety briefing and history talk before setting out on your modified electric bicycle carriage mounted on the old sugar cane railway (known as a 'Velocipede').
Your guide will lead you cruising gently through beautiful changing scenery including river crossings, mangroves, rain forest, big rock cuttings, open coastline and villages.  There are lots of animals and friendly locals along the way.  
The destination is a beautiful unspoiled beach where we stop for an hour to enjoy a swim, snorkel, some light refreshments and chill out on our blow up couches.  Then back on your 'Velocipede' and ride back to base.  The electric function means you can pedal or not, totally up to you how much energy you want to use!

Bookings are essential!
To ensure we can secure you a spot please book at least 2 months in advance. For larger groups we suggest even earlier.

Please be aware there is a weight restriction. Maximum weight per person is 120kg.

Packing List

Come wearing comfortable clothing for sitting on a bicycle seat.  Preferably not short skirts as they tend to fly up, also we travel through two villages so nothing too skimpy while riding as this can be seen as offensive.  Small children should wear covered footwear or sandals (not bare feet or thongs).

We suggest bringing swimwear, reef shoes if you have them, snorkel gear if you have it, sunblock, insect repellent (only needed on occasion but best to have it in case), camera and a sense of adventure!

Transport

We can arrange return transport from your hotel, cost dependent on your location.  If self driving see our map.

Weather

We will generally go if it is light showers or rain with a forecast to stop.  We carry rain ponchos on every velocipede and travel through sheltered forest in sections, the advantage in Fiji being that it is very rarely cold even if a little damp. If it is heavy rain and will not be pleasant we will cancel the trip prior to transfer pickup time and provide an opportunity for guests to reschedule their tour.  If this is not possible we will happily provide a refund.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation made within 24hrs of departure incurs 100% cancellation fee.Bookings cancelled between 24-48hrs incur 50% cancellation fee.
Any cancellation made with more than 48hrs notice incurs 0% fee.

Refund Policy

Full refund will be given for any cancellations where Ecotrax is notified at least 48 hours prior to their tour booking check in time..                                  
50% refund will be given for any cancellation where Ecotrax is notified between 24-48 hours prior to tour booking check in time.       No refund will be provided to cancellations within 24 hours of tour booking check in time, this includes  a drop in guest numbers.
Full refund will be given if your booking is cancelled by Ecotrax due to bad weather and Ecotrax is not able to provide another available booking date within your time frame.

We will often give you a courtesy call if there are light showers forecast just to let you know the tour is going ahead and you are aware of the conditions, you can choose not to participate, Our guides carry rain ponchos if required.  However in this instance if you choose not to participate there will not be a refund as we will not have time to fill your booking from our waitlist.

All valid refunds will be actioned within 5 days of booking date.
